Greendom

Giant Green Dome (Greendom) Makes Garden Based Learning History
The Giant Green Dome (Greendom) is a living sculpture at East Palo Alto Charter School--art created by living plants built around a perfect dome. Felicitously conceived, meticulously planned and constructed, the structure required collaboration and an amalgam of artistic, logistical, and scientific skills. Many thanks to Vance Brown Builders and NVIDIA for making this dream come true.
The structure is nearly 16 feet tall and over 30 feet in diameter. A whole classroom of children can sit inside and enjoy the shade and participate in garden activities while hummingbirds and butterflies dive through the flowering canopy. This is exciting step forward in the Green School Initiative that is underway at East Palo Alto Charter School.
