Meet Tracie Troxler, Solar Woman and Volunteer for Collective Roots

Tracie TroxlerTracie Troxler is a native Floridian who has lived in the Bay area for the last 7 years. She is a life long volunteer who enjoys spending free time on projects that benefit people and the environment. Recent activities include toxic waste reduction campaigns, community composting outreach programs, solar installation, and human service projects. She has been an occupational therapist for the last 8 years working with children and adults to promote independent living skills. Looking for a change and work that emphasizes the connection between people and the environment, she looked deeper into the solar industry, volunteer solar installation work, and connected with local, skilled solar designers and installers such as David Coale. As a result, she came upon her current AmeriCorp VISTA position at GRID Alternatives, which is a Bay Area non-profit that helps people with low incomes install solar electric systems on their homes. When she is not working or volunteering she can be found somewhere outdoors between the beach and the hills.

Tracie recently worked on a volunteer basis with David Coale to install a solar system at the East Palo Alto Charter School Garden.
