Farmers' Market
A farmers' market, typically taking place in a community once a week, is a gathering of local farmers selling their goods. These can be anything from fresh produce to some degree of prepared or processed food (e.g. cheese, jams or honey) to flowers to herbs.
Many farmers have organic certification and some do not; those with certification display the proper documentation at their booths.
Several such markets exist year-round in the San Francisco bay area. They are listed on the California Farmers' Market Association web site, http://www.cafarmersmkts.com/guide.html
