Bay Area Gardeners' Foundation Flourishes

Congratulations to Bay Area Gardener Catalino Tapia from Collective Roots. Catalino was featured again in the San Francisco Chronicle for his work developing a scholarship fund to help struggling college students. Since he started the Bay Area Gardeners’ Foundation in 2007, the donations have come pouring in. Tapia's story was picked up by National Public Radio, the "CBS Evening News" and other national and local media. The foundation has received $137,060 since The Chronicle story appeared October 15, 2007.
