Position Summary: During the 2012/2013 school year, Collective Roots will implement a multi-county health and nutrition initiative funded by the California Department of Public Health. This program aims to reach 4,500 youth and adults. The Evaluation Specialist plays a central role in evaluating the programs funded by this grant. The Evaluation Specialist will be an active member of a fast paced, team based non-profit organization. We seek a dynamic leader and innovator. This position will report to the Director of Garden and Nutrition Education and Director of Programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Evaluation Specialist will contribute to the Collective Roots goal to effectively monitor, assess, and refine its work through the consistent collection and analysis of multiple sources of data. This position will be working exclusively with our health and nutrition program funded through the California Department of Public Health. This is a half time position funded for 12 months. Specific responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the design of data collection instruments
- Abstracting and manipulating data from a variety of sources
- Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
- Co-moderating focus groups and interview
- Documenting quantitative and qualitative findings
- Communicating data results to Collective Roots staff.
- Assisting with writing year end reports to California Department of Public Health.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 –year experience evaluating Public Health projects. The evaluation specialist must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree although a MPH is preferred.
