The new Get Healthy San Mateo County website is now online thank to the efforts of the Get Healthy San Mateo County Task Force whose mission is to work collaboratively across the county to develop strategies that will reduce and prevent obesity and other health risks of unhealthy eating and lack of physical activity among all children. Collective Roots was there to support this important new resource...and provided a bicycle blender activity. Nationwide, the child obesity rate has more than doubled in the past three decades for children ages 2 to 5 and has more than tripled for 6- to 11-year-olds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
