Get Fit EPA Web Site Goes Live!

The new Get Fit EPA website is now live. The Get Fit Collaborative is a partnership of 14 organizations committed to improving the health of community residents by increasing awareness of resources and by promoting healthy eating habits and physical activity. Spearheaded by the Ravenswood Family Health Center, the collaborative was formed in 2004 in response to growing awareness of the disproportionate number of people in East Palo Alto and in the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park who face health challenges that can be eased by activity and change in diet. The long-term goal is to enlist schools, churches, healthcare organizations, community organizations, and businesses in a campaign to address risk factors through changes in lifestyle and to reduce the prevalence of obesity that leads to diabetes, hypertension and other health risks, and to improve health outcomes in our community’s diverse populations.
