End of Summer Celebration at Collective Roots

On August 20th, community members, friends and family gathered at the new Center for Urban Agriculture to celebrate a successful summer of youth employment, college internships and volunteering.  Read about the festivities and see a slideshow of summer highlights here.    Summer employees shared highlights of their work (click here to see their slideshow), while over 40 guests packed the house. 

Everyone enjoyed the delicious fruit kebabs, minty lemonade, zucchini chocolate chip cookies and tomato basil appetizers. Each departing employee received a cookbook containing recipes from the summer’s weekly community lunches (click here to download the cookbook for yourself.)  We look forward to having more gatherings like this in the future--stay tuned for more info!
