Ways to Support Collective Roots

About Collective Roots:

Collective Roots is a nine-year-old nonprofit organization that runs award-winning gardening programs in six school sites in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City. At each school site, we provide hands-on education that develops each child's unique abilities and connects them to the experience of growing and eating fresh, healthy food. While developing a life-long love of healthy eating, our students are also empowered to improve their community and protect our planet's fragile ecosystem.

We also operate the East Palo Alto Community Farmer's Market, now in its second season, providing healthy and affordable fruits and veggies from local farms and our own network of backyard gardeners. One of the only markets in Silicon Valley to utilize Fresh Checks, WIC, and EBT, this year alone we have given over $15,000 of fresh produce directly to the families who need it the most. With dignity and respect, families are able to come and get both free and affordable farm-fresh produce for their tables.

There are so many reasons to support our work...

…it’s about our planet, and the resources we use to create and transport our food.

…it’s about our bodies, how we choose to fuel and care for them.

…it’s about our communities, and how open spaces renew our connection with the natural world and one another.

most importantly, it’s about our children, and the many ways we empower them to care for their bodies, their community, and their planet.
