Collective Roots Supports the First "Carrot Run" to East Palo Alto

Collective Roots was the brainchild (and legs) behind the first Carrot Run to East Palo Alto. Wolfram Alderson and Marshawn Garner teamed up to make the special event possible.

East Palo Alto does not have a supermarket where residents can buy fresh fruits and vegetables at an affordable price. So because of this many residents need to go to the closest supermarket in Palo Alto on Middlefield to buy their produce. This point is illustrated as the Get Fit EPA Carrot purchases two bags of groceries at the Midtown Safeway and then runs from there back to East Palo Alto Charter School where the City on the Move/Delicious Health event took place on April 11, 2008.
