With the weather warming up and some moisture in the ground, we got to work direct seeding some of our favorite flowers this week, including cosmos. Cosmos grow to 4-5 feet tall and have a steady supply of flowers for months. They are good choice for California's climate because they don't need a lot of water.
Our harvest for the week was 16 lbs. of citrus, including oranges, lemons, and yellow grapefruits. This weekend, we plan to juice a bunch of our yellow grapefruits. We'll freeze the juice and use it in place of lemon juice for salad dressings and other recipes.
