Help Us Grow

Knee high by the Fourth of July

I don't know if this saying is as widely used as I used to think it was, but I grew up in the Midwest where a strong indicator for a robust corn crop was to pay attention to the height of the corn by early July. As my dad used to say, " the corn should be knee high by the 4th of July".We are in mid May and  if height is, in fact, an indicator of a yummy piece of corn, we should be expecting  a lot of delicious cornphoto sometime later this summer!!
