Stephen Woolery - Treasurer Emeritus
Steve has a career in commercial and investment real estate that spans nearly thirty years where he has gained extensive experience in the areas of leasing and investment brokerage services, corporate real estate advisory services, strategic planning and asset management. Steve began his career in Oakland, California as an account executive for the property management firm of McKeen~Herzog Co. specializing in management oversight of multi-family income property. Subsequently, he joined CB-Richard Ellis in Fresno, California as an investment specialist selling income producing investment properties throughout central California. In that capacity, he earned top producer recognition in five of seven years of his tenure there. He has held several senior management executive positions with the nation’s leading commercial real estate firms of CB Richard Ellis, Grubb & Ellis and Norris, Beggs & Simpson where he has had direct oversight responsibilities for brokerage, mortgage banking, and asset and property management divisions. In 2000 Steve joined Resource Real Estate Group, Inc to assist with the firm’s primary client, Siebel Systems. In that capacity, he was responsible for negotiating leases in 28 markets throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Subsequently, Stephen joined Cushman & Wakefield specifically for the purpose of managing several major lease and sale transactions for Symantec. Those transactions consisted of two leases in India in excess of 480,000 sf each, one lease in Beijing of over 500,000 sf and the disposition of three separate office properties with an aggregate value of slightly more than $300 million. Subsequently, he was retained by Macrovision Solutions Corporation to provide strategic and advisory services and negotiate several major lease restructurings resulting from Macrovision’s $1.4BB acquisition of Gemstar - TV Guide in June of 2008. He has provided marketing consulting and direct transaction negotiating services for several profit and not-for-profit organizations and developers of mixed-use urban infill developments with affordable housing elements in several northern California market places. He was instrumental in developing and executing the leasing strategies for the retail and office space at Fruitvale Village in Oakland California. This award winning project was developed by Fruitvale Development Corporation and was nationally recognized as a prime model for successful mixed-use Transit Oriented Development. Stephen’s list of clients includes Siebel Systems, Inc., Symantec, Macrovision Solutions, Strong Mail, Lend Lease Corporation, Beal Bank, Fruitvale Development Corporation, Bridge Housing, CHOC (Community Housing Opportunities Corp), the City of Oakland Redevelopment Agency, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), AMRESCO, and the RTC among others. He is an invited applicant to the prestigious Counselors of Real Estate organization and his professional affiliations include Lambda Alpha, an Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics. He is a past member of the Fresno County Economic Development Board of Directors and the Building Institute Association. Steve attended the University of Colorado and is a graduate of the US Naval Justice School and Naval Aviation Training Command. He is a licensed California real estate broker.
